cience Department

Our program helps students explore and understand the world around us. This includes subjects like biology, chemistry, and physics, which delve into everything from how living things work to the laws of nature. It’s all about using the scientific method to ask questions, conduct experiments, and find solutions to real-world problems. These fields are crucial for driving innovation in areas like healthcare, energy, and the environment, shaping a better future!

Our staff encourages students to use tools, machines and systems to solve problems. Our department involves a wide range of fields from coding and robotics, to biotech and nanotech. Think about how smartphones, smart homes, and medical devices have changed our daily lives—those innovations come from the tech side of STEAM! This field encourages creativity and critical thinking, helping students tackle and overcome big challenges. In today’s digital world, having a strong grasp of technology is super important for anyone looking to make an impact.

Within this these classes, students at all grades will experience our outdoor and indoor engineering labs. These spaces are designed to offer a broad range of technology supporting wood/metal working, manufacturing fabrication, and amateur radio communications. These opportunities can help guide them onto the right career pathway once they enter high school!

Beginning in grade 6, students may elect to have visual arts daily within their schedule. As students move into grades 7 and 8, students may elect to pursue 2D art, 3D art, or both! Our 3D art lab is equipped with 22 pottery wheels, allowing students to explore creativity with making pots, dishes and other ceramic artifacts. Within 2D art, students will gain experience in a wide range of art platforms from traditional to digital!

We are one of the middle schools in the district to offer students the opportunity to participate in three elective opportunities along with their core academic classwork.

Our school has a rich history of growing many talented musicians in the area with our renowned programs and opportunities.
